The RN is responsible for patient-centered, total care of the patient on the floor, including basic nursing care and assessment and critical thinking skills to provide optimal patient care to prepare the patient for discharge. The RN will provide physical and psychological support to the patient, along with education for both the patient and their families.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Planning
- Perform age-appropriate assessments and prioritize patient needs
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on nursing judgment
Treatment & Clinical Support
- Administer medications, IVs, and treatments safely and accurately
- Respond promptly to patient status changes and physician orders
Monitoring & Documentation
- Monitor treatment response and document real-time updates in the EHR
- Utilize telemetry and clinical tools to ensure quality and safety
Communication & Teamwork
- Provide clear bedside shift reports and collaborate with the care team
- Offer education to patients and families during care and discharge
Leadership & Compliance
- Serve as a Charge Nurse or resource to staff as needed
- Delegate appropriately based on licensure/scope
- Maintain compliance with infection control, HIPAA, and medication safety protocols
