Job Title: A&P Technician

Job Location: Georgetown, SC

Job Type: Full time 40 hours

Travel Requirement: Up to 25%

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance


Job Description:

Sherpa Air is looking for a A&P for its Part 145 operation. Looking for an A&P to perform heavy maintenance on turboprop, and small to medium sized corporate and commuter jets.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance
  • Follow all company and maintenance manual procedures.
  • Maintains records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and any reports related to parts or services.
  • Maintain a clean and neat work area. Help with other housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces.
  • Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and physical strength are necessary to operate tools and/or make adjustments and repairs.
  • Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.
  • Must be able to hear well enough to test sounds and identify functioning level of aircraft.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Active Airframe and Powerplant certification from the FAA.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in maintaining turboprop and light to medium jet aircraft, demonstrating a thorough understanding of their mechanical and flight systems.
  • Must be proficient in one of these areas:
  • basic sheet metal repairs and alterations.
  • be able to read and understand electrical prints and perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Great attitude and team player, good with training new or less trained personnel to grow the business.
  • Proficiency in utilizing advanced computerized maintenance tracking programs such as CAMP Systems, eBis, and FlightDocs is required to ensure accurate and efficient oversight of aircraft maintenance schedules and histories.
  • Use of Microsoft windows computer and the Microsoft software suite (word, excel, outlook, etc)
  • Must own basic hand tools for maintaining aircraft. Specialized tooling will be provided by the company.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Valid U.S. Passport
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening

Preferred Experience:

  • A.S. or B.S. in an Aviation program
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in maintaining turboprop and light to medium jet aircraft, demonstrating a thorough understanding of their mechanical and flight systems.
  • Proficiency in utilizing advanced computerized maintenance tracking programs such as CAMP Systems, eBis, and FlightDocs is required to ensure accurate and efficient oversight of aircraft maintenance schedules and histories.
  • A solid background in avionics including the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft electronic systems.
  • Experience working with composite materials, knowledgeable in the latest repair and fabrication techniques, contributing to the structural integrity and performance of modern aircraft.

Successful completion of a background screening/check/investigation will/may be required as a condition of hire.

Hourly Rate:

The proposed Hourly Rate is reflective across all Sherpa locations, years of experience and skill levels. Hourly Rate negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.
