About the Department

As a Intern at Toho Water Authority, you will work closely with experienced professionals who will guide and support you to build your skills and gain valuable experience in a real business environment.  Even better, you will take part in a variety of activities designed to help you grow both personally and professionally. Your goal as an intern is to learn as much as you can and gain hands-on experience during your internship with us. 

The individual selected for this role will support the Workforce Development Team managing training classes and gathering necessary documents and materials. As this individual progresses they will be able to collaborate closely with all departments throughout the organization to assess training needs and identify, and publish training offerings both in-house and outside of the organization. The ability to effectively communicate, strong organizational skills, and demonstrated excellent customer service are essential to this position.

Position Duties

  1. Special projects, Toho library, flyers, organization of supply closet, coordinate Lunch & Learns for various departments.
  2. Collaborate with HR team members, departments, community partners, instructors, and educational institutions.
  3. Provide logistics and event support during virtual and in-person training sessions.
  4. Customize existing learning tools for department-specific presentations.
  5. Gather training data including attendance, classes offered, and classes requested, and perform an analytical summary.
  6. Supports day-to-day administrative tasks of the Human Resources team.
  7. Administrative duties as they relate to the development of the Toho workforce.
  8. All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience demonstrating the candidate’s ability to perform successfully in this position will be considered.

  1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator.
  2. Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience.
  3. Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  4. Must obtain/possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage complex spreadsheets, use of formulas, and generate reports.
  • Strong initiative and self-starter attitude.
  • Experience using Canva or other graphic design tools to create visually appealing flyers, presentations, and learning materials.
  • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Environmental factors include indoor, flat surface, noise, sitting with occasionally walking and standing.
