About the Department
This HYBRID position works 40 hours per week.
This position is responsible for the administration, configuration, and optimization of Spokane County’s Workday ERP system, ensuring its efficient operation and alignment with organizational goals. The incumbent provides technical leadership in system maintenance, troubleshooting, reporting, and enhancement initiatives, supporting HR, Finance, Payroll, and other County departments utilizing Workday. This role serves as a primary resource for Workday functionality, system updates, data integrity, and user support while driving process improvements and technology adoption.
TOTAL COMPENSATION: $110,284 - $154,338 annually. Total compensation is an estimate based upon base compensation, median retirement fund contributions, and current employer-paid health and related benefit contribution rates (including medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability, and leave). The actual total will vary depending upon each employee's enrollment choices.
Position Duties
- Supports the administration, configuration and maintenance of the County’s Workday ERP system to ensure optimal functionality across HR, Finance, and Payroll modules.
- Manages system updates, security configurations, and integrations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Collaborates with HR, Finance, and other departments to analyze workflows, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements.
- Supports the development and deployment of Workday reports, dashboards, and analytics to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Serves as the Workday technical expert, providing end-user training and ongoing support for system enhancements and new features.
- In collaboration with SME’s, oversees Workday security roles, permissions, and access requests to maintain data integrity and compliance standards.
- Identifies, tests, and implements Workday updates and new functionalities in partnership with IT and department SME’s, ensuring seamless adoption and minimal disruption.
- Supports IT and department SME’s integrations between Workday and third-party applications, troubleshooting data synchronization and connectivity issues.
- Assists in system audits, data validation, and compliance reporting to uphold organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Works closely with IT teams and vendors to manage Workday-related technical issues and enhancements.
- Stays current on Workday releases and industry best practices, proactively recommending system improvements.
- Provides technical documentation, process guidelines, and support materials for system users.
- Ensures continuous improvement through automation, system optimization, and enhanced reporting capabilities.
- Performs other related duties as required/assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance or related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in administering Workday or other ERP systems.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Preferred but not required: Workday Pro Certification or relevant technical credentials.
- Ability to independently travel to and from work locations as required for the position. A valid Driver’s License is preferred but not required.
