Position Summary:
The Guest Musician position plays a vital role in enriching the musical experience at the Florence J. Gillmor School of Music, at Westminster University, by providing expert musical performance for rehearsals, performances, and various special events.
The incumbent will collaborate closely with the full-time Faculty and Staff to support and enhance the artistic vision of our talented musicians and performers. This position requires a keen understanding of diverse musical styles and the ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of the school’s programs.

- Guest Musician for Jazz Ensemble MUSC*335
- Guest Musician for World Music MUSC*208
- Guest Musician for Chamber Orchestra MUSC*325
- Guest Musician for Opera Studio MUSC*365
- Guest Musician for Chamber Players MUSC*385
- Guest Musician for Senior Project MUSC*421
- Guest Musician for Music Technology and Composition
- Guest Musician for piano, strings, winds or vocal private lessons
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide musical performance during weekly rehearsals for a Westminster ensemble.
- Provide musical performance for music department events.
- Provide insight into specific musical practices based on their experience and training.
- May serve as collaborative musician for other performances when needed.
- Set up and break down all related equipment for rehearsal and performances.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Technical and musical mastery of their instrument.
- Knowledge of the vocal or instrumental literature that pertains to the ensemble or class where they will perform.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse body of musicians.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Music or Arts and experience in the specific area of music called upon for the ensemble or class.
