Altus provides test & evaluation, maintenance and repair of facilities, and operation services required to implement the Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) programs under the cognizance of the Aircraft Vulnerability Division for Naval Air Warfare Center-Weapons Division China Lake, CA.
The WSL Material Coordinator is responsible for contract procurement and expediting the flow of material and services to support the WSL Program in accordance with project schedules and Program Manager�s priorities. We are seeking an individual who can apply their Logistics experience to add value and make a strong impact supporting the NAWCWD/WSL mission.
Primary Responsibilities
- Research government supply sources and commercial vendors for availability of supply items, item characteristics, and procurement lead time and prices; provide recommendations to Program Manager.
- Coordinate the inventory, accounting, control, and disposal of all material used in contract performance.
- Confer with Program Manager, Engineers, and Test Leads to determine material required or overdue, and locate material for purchase through appropriate sources as required by program schedule and purchasing regulations.
- Requisition material and establish delivery sequence to various projects according to WSL schedule priorities and anticipated availability of material.
- Examine material delivered to WSL to verify correct type, quantity, and quality prior to delivery to specific project team or location.
- Maintain all material, purchasing, and calibration records for WSL contract. Compile reports of quantity and type of material on hand or on order, as well as shipping, receiving, and damage reports as required by the SOW or Program Manager.
- Other tasking, as required to support customer requirements.
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent. Formal military, college, trade school, or equivalent on-the-job training commensurate with duties.
- Minimum of three years hands-on experience in logistics & purchasing, with knowledge of Federal Government Supply and contractor property administration & disposal systems.
- Experience in researching and contacting vendors for availability and pricing, item characteristics, or procurement lead time, including vendor negotiation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer data entry and retrieval, proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. High degree of skill in applying software functions to prepare complex and detailed procurement documents and inventory records.
- Possess a valid California driver�s license. U.S. Citizenship and a current U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance required for hire and to be maintained throughout employment. All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
Specialized Experience
- Knowledge of FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items, Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 44 Subcontracting Policies and Procedures, including market research.
- Experience with drafting Request for Quote (RFQ) documents for both routine and complex material and service requirements.
- Must possess ability to work tactfully with professional engineers, technicians, and management staff on all levels of effort. Must have ability to interpret test plans and program requirements. Experience working at a government site/facility.
- Prior material handling equipment (forklift) operator experience or ability to complete MHE training and certification within 90 days of start.
Work Conditions
Conditions will vary. Capable of working outdoors in temperatures ranging from 0�120 degrees. The position will include regular standing, bending, reaching, sitting, walking, and lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Overtime may be necessary from time to time depending on workload. May also require occasional work from elevated platforms while using a fall protection harness.
