Our client, a European MNC and a global leader in Forest & Gardening Tools, is looking to hire Area Sales Managers to be based in specific regions across India and support their business growth.
Key responsibilities
- Build and develop key account business in the region – large corporate accounts in the region
- Develop business in the Government domain through tenders – various state government departments and authorities.
- Handling of large enquiries and tenders
- Develop the dealership presence in the allocated region
- Appoint new dealers suitable for the business; develop existing dealers
- Initiate market development activities to create and promote awareness about the brand – with different stakeholders e.g. Government, corporates as well as retail users
- Participate in local events to interact with end users, influencers and others
- Keep track of competition in the region
- Stay in regular touch with the regional manager - update on trends, opportunities, challenges; provide performance data
- Manage field team where necessary
Required profile
- Graduate or Engineer
- 8-15 years of work experience. MNC experience an advantage
- Prior experience in Government business dealings. Exposure to tenders
- Ability to appoint dealers, drive business through dealers
- Proven sales capabilities; good track record in target achievement
- Customer interaction experience
- Market development and competition tracking experience
- Knowledge of the local territories
- Willingness to travel
- Personal characteristics: Self-driven and mature, ambitious and sharp, strong communication skills
- Local language, English speaking skills
