Technical Lead – Operations & Maintenance (Cold Storage Warehouse) chez Maersk

Technical Lead – Operations & Maintenance to oversee overall Operation and maintenance activities within our cold storage warehouse facility. This role is critical for ensuring that refrigeration systems, electrical components, HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing and material handling equipment are operating efficiently and with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will lead a team of technicians/Jr. engineers, ensure preventive and corrective maintenance schedules are executed, and support smooth warehouse operations in a temperature-controlled environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the technical O&M team and Third-party service provider for all cold storage warehouse operation including Refrigeration systems, HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing, electrical& Control panels, generators, backup systems and Material Handling equipment.
• Hands own experience in managing   O&M of Ammonia industrial refrigeration systems, including Screw compressors, Evaporative condensers, Air Cooling units, PHE chillers, Ammonia Pump, Chilled water Pumps, MCC Panel and control panels etc.
• Have basic knowledge of Transformer, LT/HT Panel, Firefighting system, Plumbing and lighting etc.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to avoid unplanned breakdown
• Lead and manage the technical O&M team and Third-party service provider, ensuring timely and quality execution of all maintenance activities.
• Monitor temperature logs, alarms, and energy usage to ensure optimal and compliant operations
• Monitor KPIs and prepare detailed reports on operations, incidents, and maintenance activities.
• Contribute to energy efficiency, cost reduction, and sustainability initiatives within the warehouse.
• Act as the point of escalation for complex technical issues, providing guidance and solutions to Technicians.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, hygiene, and food safety standards
• Collaborate with warehouse operation team for smooth operation of Cold storage warehouse asper the operation team requirements.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
• Participate in audits and support implementation of best practices and standards.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of junior engineers and technicians.

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/ electrical
• 5+ years of experience in refrigeration system maintenance and operations.
• Strong technical knowledge of ammonia (NH₃) Industrial Refrigeration System
• Proficient in reading technical drawings, P&IDs, Electrical SLD and understanding of control logic.
• Hands-on experience of SCADA based Refrigeration System
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
• Good written and verbal communication
