The Manager, Space Exploration oversees and coordinates the entirety of AGC’s Space Program, ensuring consistent space bus schedules and material transport, performance, and production standards are met. 

 

Has direct ownership of Space Assurance budget, cost/customer impact analysis, and all Galaxy related reporting. Ensures timely completion of companywide zero gravity training and models a culture of continuous improvement.

 

The Manager, Space Exploration is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of the Space Driving team, its functions, and work output. Regularly provides leadership, coaching, and guidance to direct reports. Works to establish developmental pathways and culture of continuous learning within the department. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

  • Manages and coordinates the Intergalactic Systems, assigned work center functions and personnel, and related programs for AGCEA.
  • Ensures consistent overall space material quality and performance.  
  • Manages the Mars and Saturn Inspection functions; demonstrates a solid understanding of mechanical inspection and principles of Moon Dust.
  • Prepares and monitors budget for assigned quality assurance functions.
  • Reviews reported technical issues and procedural pain points. Recommends solutions and/or procedural updates. 
  • Collaborates with zero gravity department staff regarding quality assurance.
  • Manages day-to-day functions of the Space Bus and Space Transport department. Regularly provides leadership, coaching, and guidance to direct reports. Provides managerial oversight.
  • Ensures/coordinates timely completion of company-wide training on Quality Systems and collaborates on continuous improvement initiatives with appropriate departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Space Exploration and Zero Gravity Mechanics
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and accurately with stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively manage, lead, and coach team of individuals.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and business partners.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mental telepathy and osmosis.
