- Manage and provide instructional guidance, virtual teaching and general strategies for a caseload of students;
- Develop, write and help implement IEPs;
- Evaluate tests and assessments, complete report cards and conduct parent conferences;
- Communicate regularly with parent’s/learning coaches of students with special needs to insure their IEP goals are being met, and that their needs are addressed in a timely and appropriate fashion;
- Consult with teachers and coordinate the implementation of specially designed instruction as defined in the IEP regarding students with specific needs and potential learning issues;
- Provide direct services to students including services delivered through web-conferencing software, as needed;
- Plan and implement academic instruction for students who exhibit communication, social and behavioral challenges using evidence based methods (i.e. Direct Instruction) and modified curriculum materials (i.e. VB-MAPP, Unique, SRA) as well as general education curriculum
- Schedule, organize and conduct IEP related meetings in a virtual environment, as needed;
- Participate in the school’s Student Support Team; help teachers and learning coaches develop and implement program modifications and strategies for all students;
- Assist, as needed, with the organization and proper implementation of all paperwork, documentation and procedures for the IEP process;
- Assist with locating service providers for students needing related services as mandated by their IEPs;
- Assist with negotiating and executing contracts with service providers for students requiring such services;
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in the school’s Learning Management System and special education software;
- Work with school administrators and regular education teachers to ensure students with moderate to severe disabilities have equitable opportunities;
- Provide students opportunities to have functional curriculum embed into their core instruction;
- Assist students in preparing for their post-secondary outcomes, including linking students to agencies, paid employment opportunities and other appropriate activities or training to support post-secondary outcomes;
- Assist with administering state testing and coordinate the special adaptations required based on the IEP;
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Special Education or relevant subject matter
- Autism endorsement preferred
- Appropriately certified to teach in Pennsylvania
- Appropriately certified to teach Special education
- Possesses all PDE required clearances for school-based personnel
- Cyber teaching experience is preferred, but not required
- Experience in policy (IDEA) and/or administration with Special Education preferred.
- Ability to effectively disseminate information, both orally and in writing to all stakeholders
- Knowledge of web-based applications and data management systems
- Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proficiency in computer applications, specifically Google environments
- Willingness to commit to training in Applied Behavior Analysis
- Customer focused approach with a high degree of flexibility
- Work well in fast paced environment with a team player track record
- Must reside in the state of Pennsylvania
- Ability to pass the background checks required for all school employees in Pennsylvania
- This position could include limited travel and could include limited overnight Travel
