Cardiac Step-down RN II Registry-1 chez Silvercross

Position Summary: Provides professional nursing skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients. The Registered Nurse provides care consistent with the standards of professional nursing in a cardiovascular step-down unit.  Provides leadership and supervision to CNA/SNA and other healthcare workers as assigned. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assesses each patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, nutritional, and functional needs  

• Plans and implements a plan of care with the appropriate nursing interventions specific to the age population served 

• Assesses educational needs of patient/ families implementing teaching strategies 

• Evaluate care given including the patient response 

• Documents nursing care in the medical record 

• Provides delegation and supervision to CNA, SNA and other healthcare workers who assist the nurse in the plan of care 

• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed 

• Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits  

• Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct 

Required Qualifications:   

Education and Training: 

• CPR certified 

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois or eligible for licensure per Nurse Practice Act
