Admin Associate II - Finance chez Sun Prairie Area School District

STARTING WAGE: $21.93+ per hour (based on experience)

Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to perform various accounting functions including budget management and reporting.

• Set up and monitor the high school budget
• Prepare various accounting and activity reports and maintains records \
• Prepare daily deposits
• Prepare and issue checks for activity accounts
• Maintain security of building keys
• Manage student parking permits
• Manage student ID’s
• Maintain office equipment
• Prepare a variety of documents including purchase orders, check preparation memos, budget line transfers, monthly activity summaries, budget decision items, etc. using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style
• Assist with registration and collection of course fees and refunds of course fees
• Record and deliver information, explain procedures and follow instruction
• Use and interpret accounting technology
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, personal computer, photocopier, scanner, calculator, fax machine, etc.
• Must demonstrate proficiency through Skill Check testing (typing speed and accuracy, grammar, proof-reading, math, MS Office word processing, Exel, and other accounting skills testing as necessary)

• Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents including budget request forms, purchase requisitions, budget transfers, field trip requests, student refunds, maintenance and facility use requests, budget ledger sheets, vendor invoices, petty cash forms, vendor catalogs, key listings, parking reports, receipt books, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, other school and district staff, vendors, the general public and others verbally and in writing

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate decimals and percentages.

• Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including personal computer, typewriter, calculator, fax machine, telephone, etc.

• Ability to work effectively in an office environment
• Ability to use technology to accomplish job responsibilities that may include basic knowledge of e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet software
