We are looking for a Senior Admissions Officer to join the Admissions Team in the School of Healthcare Sciences.
In this role you will:
- Take the lead responsibility for the effective administration management of all activities/systems relating to Admissions.
- Liaise with other Professional Support Senior Officers to ensure all pre-entry enrolment processes are completed according to the requirements of the programme.
- Work closely with the Academic Director of Recruitment and Admissions (DoRA) to ensure that all requirements are met.

This position is full time (35 hours per week) and fixed term until 31st July 2026.

Salary: £33,951 - £36,636 per annum (Grade 5).

Job Description
Lead and manage the Admissions team in the School of Healthcare Sciences.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Taking the lead responsibility for the effective administrative management of all activities/systems relating to Admissions.
- Leading a team of support staff, in the effective execution of their roles; taking responsibility for induction, workload allocation, appraisal, performance review and the identification of training and development needs.
- Acting as the point of escalation for any issues raised by the Admissions Support Officer or Admissions Assistants advising on difficult cases, proposing. recommendations and courses of action to academic staff or the Education & Students Manager / Deputy School Manager.
- Working to close deadlines ensuring that all records for submission to central services and other organisations are completed within the necessary timescale and liaising with admissions tutors to ensure that admissions targets and regulations are adhered to.
- Taking the lead responsibility for the effective processing of complex and unusual admissions cases including APEL/RPL, Erasmus etc, ensuring that there is sufficient support for these applicants during the process.
- Liaising with other Professional Support Senior Officers to ensure all pre-entry enrolment processes are completed according to the requirements of the programme.
- Taking a lead on the operational planning and management of interview/assessment days, liaising closely with relevant academic staff to establish their needs for the events and ensure appropriate resources are in place.
- Overseeing the management of relevant pre-admissions checks i.e. Disclosure and Barring Service Records, raising concerns with the Education & Students Manager/Deputy School Manager and providing a thorough and clear handover to the Student Cases Support Officer for matters requiring further attention.
- Actively taking part in projects within the School, College or Wider University in relation to Admissions processes as required, engaging in process improvement activities and making recommendations to the Education & Students Manager/Deputy School Manager as appropriate.
- Monitoring the process and progress of all UG and PGT applications including the provision of relevant statistical data for presentation to appropriate Groups or Committees.
- Acting as Secretary and service such standing committees of the School as may be relevant to the role, as directed by the Education & Students Manager/Deputy School Manager.
- Ensuring that confidentiality is maintained when undertaking duties.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in respect of equality and diversity, data protection, copyright and licensing, security, financial and other University policies, procedures and codes.
