As the Fitness & Wellness Specialist, you will have the responsibility for creating and leading fitness classes, supporting the Health & Wellness Manager, and encouraging residents to participate in health and wellness classes. This successful team member must have the ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced work environment while remaining focused on the highest customer service standards.  


What you will be doing:  

  • Instructing and educating in group and individual fitness settings.
  • Perform administrative work as assigned.
  • Assists residents and staff through the process of actively working towards better health by providing support, encouragement, and education in the areas of fitness, weight management, stress reduction, health and risk management, and reducing barriers to reaching fitness goals.
  • Supports active engagement & promotion for fitness & wellness programs. 
  • Maintains exercise equipment in accordance with policy and reports any concerns to the Fitness Program Manager. 
  • Maintains adequate supplies and reports any foreseeable shortages to the Fitness Program Manager. 
  • Assists with planning and implementation of resident wellness program incentives and events.
  • Other duties as assigned  


What we are looking for:

  • Ability to uphold our core values, and follow policies and procedures.  
  • Must be able to take initiative to always find a way to say yes to both our residents and staff.  
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, have reliable transportation, and be on time for scheduled shifts. 
  • Most importantly have a positive attitude and be able to smile at all times (even under a mask). 
  • 1-2 years in fitness field preferred; specific experience working with older adults required. 
  • Ability to teach basic group fitness, including aquatic classes. (Certification in aquatic fitness a plus)
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree required. Health, Wellness, or Fitness major preferred. 
  • Personal Trainer or other fitness industry certification through one of the nationally accredited industry associations (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA, etc.) required. 
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required.
