About the Department
The City of Jefferson is currently accepting applications for an Accounting Technician, Senior for our Finance Department. This position performs and maintains a variety of City-wide technical bookkeeping functions.
Position Duties
Processes business licenses and liquor licenses; and coordinates licensing efforts to ensure that all federal, state, and municipal regulations are followed.
Minimum Qualifications
Physical: Ability to sit at computer for extended periods of time.
Mental: Ability to perform numerical detail work with speed and accuracy, make mathematical computations with mechanical assistance. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, other employees and the general public; and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
An accredited Associates' or technical degree in accounting or related field and one-year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred, but not required.
Other Qualifications
Must have computer skills in spreadsheet and word processing applications required.
This position starts at $41,834.87 annually.
