Job Title: Bookkeeper

Location: Temple, Tx

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Primary duties will include:

Accounting & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Record journal entries and assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including cash, AR, AP, inventory, and fixed assets.
  • Maintain organized documentation for audits, compliance, and internal controls.

Financial Reporting

  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Support the CFO in compiling reports for executive management and the Board of Directors.
  • Provide reconciliations and variance explanations for revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
  • Track and maintain financial documentation to support corporate governance requirements.

Cash Flow & Treasury Support

  • Monitor daily cash balances and prepare cash activity reports.
  • Assist in preparing weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Track payments, collections, and vendor obligations to maintain accurate visibility into cash needs.

Budgeting & Analysis Support

  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Support variance analysis by gathering data and preparing reports on expenses, margins, and KPIs.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested by the CFO or leadership team.

Process Improvement & Administrative Support

  • Help improve efficiency by maintaining consistent processes and documentation across accounting and reporting functions.
  • Support implementation of accounting/ERP systems or reporting tools.
  • Assist with maintaining corporate files, vendor contracts, and other finance-related records.

 

Requirements:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, OR equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger functions.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar accounting software.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in financial reporting and basic variance analysis.
  • Exposure to ERP systems and/or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

The essential physical & environmental requirements of the position are:

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.
  • Ability to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and have color vision.
