A bit about the role

Our Night Residential Support Worker role is a fantastic opportunity for those with experience in a care setting who are looking to advance their careers. Working overnight, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, calm, and nurturing environment for our young people while they rest. You'll manage risk in a way that empowers them and builds resilience, ensuring their physical and emotional safety throughout the night. Demonstrating a high standard of person-centred practice, you'll embody strong social care values and be a positive role model—even during the quietest hours.

In return, we offer amazing opportunities for career progression within our organisation. We provide an in-depth induction process and training, and we'll enrol you in the necessary qualifications for the industry. Regular supervision with your line manager and team meetings will ensure you feel part of our team. Once you've gained the relevant experience and qualifications, you'll be ready to take the next step in your career with us.

Castlelaw Cottage is a small but vibrant residential service for two young people with a learning disability, ASD and behaviours which challenge. Our newly renovated house is designed to support them in leading a fulfilling and active life, both at home and in the community. We appreciate their unique personality and strive to create a space where they can thrive and receive the support they need. Our young people are non-verbal but communicate in their own ways and really thrive when supported by people who take the time to get to know them. They’re outdoorsy, active and love to be on the go, whether that’s heading out for walks, enjoying trips to the park or exploring new places. They enjoy family visits where they can spend time with parents and siblings too. They also benefit from a variety of indoor activities that help them stay engaged, stimulated and happy.

As a night worker, you’ll be there to provide reassurance, assist with any personal care needs, and respond to any incidents or concerns that may arise during the night. You’ll help maintain a consistent and stable environment that supports their emotional wellbeing and contributes to a restful night. This role can be challenging but is also hugely rewarding—we celebrate the small victories as well as the big milestones.

We believe in offering flexibility to our staff by allowing them to choose between single or double night shifts, with various shift patterns available to ensure a great work-life balance.
