This role plays a vital part in supporting the financial health and sustainability of the HCMH; ensuring accurate and timely financial management in accordance with federal and state regulations, including cost reporting.
This is a FT position with FT benefits including: IPERS, Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance and Long Term Disability. PTO and Sick Time accrual begins first day of employment.

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsibilities include accounting functions in the areas of general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, cash management, payroll reporting, assist CFO with month end financial reporting, and cost reporting budget processing.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Performs the general ledger accounting functions to assure a fair and accurate statement of the finances of the medical center.
- Reviews the accounts payable processing for the medical center.
- Controls and maintains the Capital Asset records for the medical center.
- Monitors the cash accounts of the medical center and assures sufficient balances in accounts to cover checks.
- Helps prepare, reviews and analyzes the financial operations of the medical center.
- Supports and participates in the budget process.
- Performs various payroll related functions.
- Assists CFO with annual financial audit.
340B Policy Responsibilities:
- Responsible for annual or semiannual physical inventory of pharmacy items.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Maintains a courteous and professional manner in dealing with patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers.
- Shows a positive attitude toward work schedules, department and hospital changes, assignments and other personnel.
- Presents professional appearance in dress and grooming, complies with departmental dress requirements and wears hospital identification badge.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or equivalent work history in related field.
- 5-10 years related experience preferred
- Prior hospital finance experience preferred.
- General knowledge of hospital revenue cycle or cost-based reimbursement preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, required database and accounting computer application systems preferred

- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills, ability to lead and make decisions.
- Subject to interruptions in performing assigned work.
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of sitting at desk and working at a computer.
