 Shift Supervisor 

Reports to: Team Manager 

FLSA Status: Exempt

Shift Supervisor Summary: 

This position supervises a single shift. This role is responsible for leading a team to perform inventory, shipping, receiving, and storage operations. The Shift Supervisor has the goals of maintaining accurate records, operational excellence, and identifying areas for improvement to their Team Manager.  

 Shift Supervisor Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Direct a team daily to complete receiving, inventory put-away, pulling for shipments, shipping, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods.
• Measure and report task completion and quality issues to the Team Manager and incoming shift Supervisor.
• Organize and maintain inventory and storage area.
• Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy.
• Communicate task expectations and train employees.
• Assign daily workload based on staffing levels. 
• Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative work procedures and practices.
• Review and approve payroll submissions for shift team members, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting of hours worked.
• Confer and coordinate activities with other shifts.

 Shift Supervisor Supervisory Responsibilities: 

• Supervise, organize and provide daily leadership to all warehouse shift Team Members, often without the presence of the Team Manager.

 Shift Supervisor Skills/Abilities: 

• Able to independently assess issues as they arise and elevate appropriately
• Dependable, highly organized, and detail oriented
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, basic understanding of OSHA and ASI requirements
• Ability to consistently meet objectives and deadlines
• Strong computer skills including basic knowledge of networking, databases, and security 

 Shift Supervisor Education and Experience: 

• Required: Minimum three years’ experience in a related field
• Required: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and WMS
• Preferred: Valid Driver’s License
• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Previous warehouse or logistics supervisor experience 

 Shift Supervisor Physical and/or Travel Requirements: 

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
