Description
Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis, LLC (MD&A), is seeking a Vice President and General Manager to oversee our Repairs Division and Turbine Generator Repairs Facility in St. Louis, MO. The Vice President of Repairs will lead our repair operations, which includes all aspects of steam and gas turbine repair execution and customer growth. The position is responsible for understanding the industry market, driving sales and orders for the Repairs division, and executing all aspects of operations to meet customer and business expectations. This executive role will drive strategic initiatives to elevate safety, productivity, quality, and operational excellence.
Reporting to the CEO/President of MD&A, the ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in turbine generator leadership and have a strong background in both domestic and global sales and operational execution. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, develop world-class operations, and execute company-wide goals is essential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
- Develop and implement machining, welding, engineering, and supply chain strategies, initiatives, and deliverables in alignment with Company-wide strategy
- Provide direction and support to the Operations leadership team and company stakeholders in the development and execution of the group’s strategic plans.
- Collaborates with executive leadership and other external resources to develop and meet Company goals.
- Develops industry leading customer relationships & partners with sales and other divisional leaders to close orders.
- Develop coaching/mentoring relationships with staff, encouraging decision-making, enterprise-wide collaboration, and taking ownership of their responsibilities and teams.
- Ensure safety and quality meet company and industry standards. Adopt and enhance current environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Company and regulatory policies.
Planning and Reporting
- Lead strategic evaluation and initiatives to ensure alignment with short- and long-term business objectives, cost targets, and operations excellence.
- Assess current Divisional performance, capacity utilization, geographic advantages, supply chain integration, labor and material costs, and potential risks.
- Ensure departmental decisions and project plans, such as those for staffing, development, organizational structure, material availability, capital project expansion, product development, and facilities are in line with the Company’s strategy.
- Provide expertise and guidance on Operations’ projects and systems.
- Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
Financial Stewardship
- Establish and effectively manage Division operating budget for operations.
- Identify and mitigate risks in Division operations that could negatively impact cost, quality, and/or delivery of products/services to customers.
- Collaborate with Finance on the development of Division services standard cost, forecasting, and capital projects.
- Utilize Company processes and systems to effectively collaborate with leadership on demand and supply planning to optimize attainment of operational schedules.
Customer Engagement
- Identify and secure new customer relationships to drive revenue growth, both domestic and international
- Participate in industry-specific associations and events to build professional networks and stay informed on market trends.
- Maintain deep understanding of company products, services, pricing structures, and delivery methodologies.
- Forecast sales and customer activity and anticipated revenue to support strategic planning.
- Provide strategic direction and support to team in managing customer relationships, delivering value, and identifying growth opportunities.
Requirements
Education, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in direct on-site Manufacturing/Machining leadership role, preferably in a power manufacturing/machining environment
- Direct involvement and leadership in project management, process engineering, and customer engagement
- Experience with oOEM (other OEM) generator turbine businesses
- Language Skills: Fluent in English with ability to communicate effectively at executive levels
- Other Related Skills: Must be self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed and proven ability to drive sales and generate new business within a large, complex, and multinational business environment.
