Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida and Tennessee. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. What will you do in as a Corporate and Community Relationship Manager?


As a Corporate and Community Relationship Manager in the Resource Development and (RD) department, you will be responsible for stewarding a portfolio of over 50 major and mid-sized companies to drive $250,000+ in annual corporate contributions through sponsorships, employee engagement, grants, and philanthropic partnerships. This is a revenue-generating role, ideal for a results-driven professional who is passionate about social impact and skilled in relationship management, strategic communication, and fundraising.).


A typical day as a Corporate and Community Relationship Manager will include;

  • Email communications.
  • Face to face engagements with current and new corporate partners.
  • Engagements in community events, either hosted by Thompson or others.
  • Managing the inclusion of data into CRM to track KPI’s and revenue.
  • Create and/or refine solicitations to corporate partners.
  • Creating and/or refining asset plans with new and returning partners.
  • Representing Thompson in speaking engagements with individuals, small groups, or parties exceeding 25 people.

As a Corporate and Community Relationship Manager you will be asked to work normal business hours, with an expectation to be able to work afternoon and evening events and meetings as they arise, typically 1-2 times per week). These events will come at no personal cost to the employee, and will require the employee to present and represent the organization, mission, and values at all times.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Education requirement for this role is: Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in corporate fundraising, sales, business development, or external affairs- preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Proven track record of meeting revenue goals and cultivating corporate partnerships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel within the Charlotte region and work flexible hours, including occasional evenings/weekends.
  • All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.
  • Must have a valid Driver License and meet any credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in.
