Description
We are looking for a service technician to perform specialty repair work and maintenance for water treatment technologies in North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and surrounding areas. The company will provide a truck/van, laptop, and phone for service calls.
- Specializes in multiple areas of water treatment technology repair, such as high-purity water systems, water softeners, water reclaim systems, and specialized filtration systems.
- Identifies mechanical problems, either visually or with other diagnostic equipment.
- Performs tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper mechanical function; ensures that all critical parts are examined.
- Performs repairs, replacements, or maintenance.
- Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems.
- Travel to the home office in Ramsey, MN, to gather tools and parts regularly.
- Ability to travel to the Ramsey office for the first few months for training and onboarding purposes.
- Ability to work on-call hours as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to learn mechanical/electrical systems and concepts.
- Excellent mechanical repair skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
- Ability to read service and repair manuals.
- Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
- Ability to read work orders.
- Ability to travel periodically throughout the state of Minnesota and surrounding states.
- Ability to work on an on-call basis.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three (3) years of related experience.
- Plumbing, HVAC, or controls experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in water treatment systems is a plus.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs regularly.
- Must be able to inspect water treatment technologies to determine repairs needed.
- Good vision is required to inspect repair work.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
*Pay increase for achieving Journeyperson Water Treatment License (requires accumulating hours (875 hours) and passing a State of MN test)
