About the Role

 

As a Production Operator, you'll play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. You'll be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, performing accurate product changeovers, and completing essential documentation--all while supporting the smooth operation of our packaging lines.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Following all safety, health, quality, Food Safety, GMP, and company policies and procedures.
  • Understanding and properly operating safety switches, interlocks, and safety devices.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area to meet safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Checking product and case codes frequently for accuracy and legibility.
  • Performing package changeovers accurately and efficiently.
  • Completing and filing all required quality and packaging documentation in a timely and orderly manner.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Under the supervision of the Production Lead and Facility Manager, the production employee is required to operate and monitor the filling equipment, prepare returnable packaging containers for refilling, and operate packaging equipment.

 

 

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)

 

  • The production employee must understand and follow all established safety, health, quality, Food safety GMP guidelines and company guidelines and procedures are being met.
  • Operate automatic inventory system by mean of mounted computer and scanners.
  • Must maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Accurately and consistently fill out required production documents.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues with equipment.
  • Follow escalation protocol in a timely manner when troubleshooting efforts fail.
  • Work closely with maintenance when escalation to maintenance support is needed for a mechanical issue.
  • Must be able to operate forklift and transport finished pallet to warehouse storage.
  • May be required to assist in the warehouse as a facility needs mandate (loading and unloading trailers).
  • Must complete and file all required quality and packaging documentation in an orderly and timely manner.
  • Must notify lead of any major problems or questions, including Quality or Food Safety concerns.
  • Communicate processing information to designated personnel on incoming shift.
  • Ensure work area meets 5S guidelines.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Requires basic mathematical and writing skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and remain alert at all times.
  • Must be able to work overtime, during peak production periods.
  • Must be able to work under minimum supervision.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform light maintenance.
  • Consistently report to work on time.
