The Opportunity

The Social Work Supervisor serves as a key leader in delivering high-quality social work services across Grady Health System. In this role, you will coordinate and supervise assigned social workers while fostering professional growth, teamwork, and service excellence. You will also guide efforts to strengthen benefits, services, and programs that support targeted populations and create a meaningful impact in patients’ lives. As a representative of Grady Health System, the Social Work Supervisor builds strong partnerships with community organizations and internal stakeholders. In addition, this role provides direct social work coverage as needed, ensuring compassionate, comprehensive care for those we serve.


What You'll Do

  • Lead, supervise, and evaluate social work staff within assigned areas.

  • Direct and support training and orientation for new team members.

  • Develop, update, and implement departmental policies and procedures.

  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of social work documentation.

  • Contribute to the design, planning, and administration of targeted programs and initiatives.

  • Deliver direct social work services to patients and families in assigned areas as needed.

  • Prepare and maintain monthly reports and other required documentation.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited School of Social Work.

Preferred:

  • Three (3) years of hospital-based social work experience, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory role.

  • Licensed Medical Social Worker (or eligibility to obtain licensure within one year of employment).
