Position Summary
In addition to its 300 days of annual sunshine, breathtaking scenery, and reputation for some of the country's best brews, Denver ranks among the top 10 in Forbes’ 'Best cities for dogs 2024' list. We are honored to have a strong presence in this mile-high city, as we have been operating here since 1930. Initially focused on producing livestock feed, the plant transitioned into a pet food-only manufacturer in 1972. Notably, our Denver location became the first-ever pet food factory to harness the power of solar energy. We take great pride in doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. We currently produce 260,134 tons annually of Dog Chow®, Cat Chow®, Kit n Kaboodle®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE Beyond®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®.
As a Forklift Mechanic, you will be responsible for the upkeep of forklifts and other heavy equipment for the Denver plant. You will complete both preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, often working independently. As a part of our Maintenance Team, you will be part of a safety-oriented environment where strong emphasis is placed on equipment reliability and process improvement.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair on electric, propane, and liquid petroleum (LP) forklifts.
- Repair and replace component parts, brake systems, hydraulics, and propane systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair on heavy equipment such as scissor and boom lifts, floor scrubbers and sweepers, and more.
- Maintain forklift battery charging stations.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools such as power saws, drills, roto hammers, drill press, and more.
- Assist the Maintenance Team with other responsibilities as directed.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience as an industrial forklift maintenance mechanic, related military equipment mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic, in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military, or related environment.

- Must be willing to provide required hand tools.
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required.
The approximate pay for this position is $40.76 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
