Under general supervision, responsible for operating MRI scanner(s) for diagnostic imaging purposes aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of pathology.
Responsibilities
- Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
- Transfers, positions and instructs patients regarding the procedure.
- Selects appropriate imaging techniques; operates console and peripheral hardware; enters and monitors patient data.
- Transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce transparency.
- Develops film in automatic processor and inspects for quality and completeness.
- Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix camera.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in patient care, MRI safety, and IV starts.
- Knowledgeable in the operation of the power injector and contrast administration/usage, all peripheral hardware and all devices used in MRI.
- Demonstrated ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives and choose an appropriate course of action.
- Bilingual, English & Spanish preferred.
EDUCATION:
- Technical School Degree: Radiologic Technology.
EXPERIENCE:
- One (1) year of related experience is required.
Company
- Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
