SCOPE
The Technical Manager – Embedded Solutions is a technical contributor within Braemac's Global Technology Solutions (GTS) team. This role supports the definition, validation, and integration of embedded and hardware-based value-add projects across Braemac’s global operations, with a strong focus on microcontrollers, SOMs, and embedded platforms. The Technical Manager collaborates with project managers, engineering teams, and suppliers to ensure embedded systems meet performance, compliance, and customer requirements. This is an individual contributor role, without direct project ownership or team leadership responsibilities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support embedded architecture selection, system evaluation, and component trade-offs during early-stage design.
- Contribute to schematic and PCB layout reviews focused on embedded subsystems.
- Assist with firmware integration, hardware bring-up, and product testing as needed.
- Provide hands-on technical support for Braemac’s customers across global regions, helping deliver tailored embedded solutions.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, internal engineering teams, and suppliers to ensure technical feasibility and delivery alignment.
- Develop and maintain embedded documentation, integration notes, and reference materials.
- Stay current with evolving embedded platforms, processor families, and related technology trends.
- Support the GTS sales and BDM teams by offering technical input during opportunity qualification and customer engagement.
- Participate in internal design reviews and contribute to a culture of technical quality and continuous improvement within GTS.
EDUCATION & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 year’s experience as in embedded systems, application engineering, or technical support roles.
- Strong knowledge of embedded platforms (MCUs, SOMs, RTOS, embedded Linux).
- Experience working with a range of operating systems such as Linux, Windows, Android, and real-time OS environments.
- Familiarity with peripheral interface standards including USB, PCIe, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and Ethernet.
- Knowledge of memory architectures (DDR, NAND, NOR, eMMC) and CPU technologies (ARM, x86, RISC-V, etc.).
- Ability to work across cross-functional teams (Sales, PMs, engineering, suppliers).
- Effective communicator with strong documentation and customer interaction skills.
