Senior VMware Administrator

Job Purpose:

The VMware Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the virtualized infrastructure environment. The role ensures high availability, performance, and security of VMware systems while supporting business-critical applications and services. The administrator will handle day-to-day operations, troubleshoot issues, perform upgrades/patching, and contribute to infrastructure automation and optimization initiatives.

Essential Functions: 

Assess and implements best practices in line with change management process, troubleshooting and resolving VMware environment issues.

Four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

8 to 14 years of related experience 

Special Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Expertise in supporting VMware 6.7 and 7.0+.
• Experience with DELL/Intel/CISCO hardware basic knowledge of Linux troubleshooting in ESXi, creating/managing HA, DRS, affinity rules, installing & managing ESXi host, patching & upgrading ESXi versions.
• Should have experience in Physical-to-Virtual (P2V), Virtual-to-Virtual (V2V) and Virtual-to-Physical (V2P) migration of OS’.
• Good knowledge in VMware server and other virtualization platforms & experienced in large scale production support virtualization environment technical knowledge of VMware vSphere installation, configuration and administration of ESXi 6.x/7.x.
• Provisioning of new VM’s, editing the VM configuration, create/edit datastores, vCenter Server, VCSA, PSC, HA and VMs Files.
