The Service Coordinator is responsible for the general administration and coordination of the Off Highway (generator & marine) department. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customer service requests and the management of service and warranty jobs.
Responsibilities:- Generate repair orders and schedule repair and planned maintenance tasks, ensuring customer purchase orders or payments are obtained as required.
- Ensure technicians have the necessary parts, supplies, and documentation to complete their assignments efficiently.
- Review job completion, verify the accuracy of parts and labor, and ensure all supporting documentation is in place to create the final customer invoice.
- Collaborate with the sales team to streamline customer deficiency repairs.
- Address customer concerns by providing support via phone and email, ensuring their service requests are met promptly.
- Assist the credit department with collections, as required.
- Manage warranty processes, including checking coverage, creating jobs, and preparing claims for submission.
- Interact with both internal and external customers and vendors to address warranty issues and follow up until claims are resolved.
- Review and allocate Work in Progress (WIP) weekly.
- Perform other duties as assigned and/or required to support the service department.
- Good customer service, communication, telephone and organization skills
- Self-motivated, dependable, driven individual who can work independently
- Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and coworkers
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask in fast paced environment with shifting priorities
- Ability to read and interpret technician writeups and summarize in a grammatically correct format.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Basic computer navigation skills required.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or GED
- Experience in the power generation service industry preferred but not required. Willing to train the right individual.
