Keller is looking for General Superintendent based out of our Cleveland, Ohio location.
Responsibilities:The General Superintendent must be a dynamic and positive leader, responsible for both on-site and office-based oversight of geotechnical construction projects. This includes managing personnel, coordinating equipment and material deliveries, and ensuring successful execution from project inception through completion. Assist with scheduling, project planning, staging of equipment, personnel staffing needs and implementation of quality control plans and safety programs of multiple projects. Manage multiple Superintendents, Foremen and subcontractors if required. Attends critical job site meetings and provides general field direction to on-site crews, including subcontractors if applicable, during all phases of construction. Assists the Operation Manager and Project Manager to ensure the project is delivered to the client safely, on time and within budget.

Risk Management
- Fully understands and complies with Keller risk management policies and procedures.
- Recognizes major risks and takes appropriate measures to reduce risk to the company.
Project Support and Initial Planning
- Reviews and understands project and contract requirements.
- Performs pre/post bid as well as regular job site inspections.
- Consults with Project Managers and Estimators to develop sound pre-bid work plans including production rates, equipment and manning.
- Alerts the Operations Manager of potential project impacts relating to resource management, crew make-up/size, schedule restraints, etc.
- Assists with material procurement and delivery.
- Ensures equipment is operating safely and is properly maintained.
- Identifies cost-savings opportunities while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Ensures work is in compliance with contract requirements, and project plans and specifications.
- Attends critical job site meetings.
- Develop and nurture strong working relationships with clients for future project opportunities.
- Oversees all manpower for field activities.
- Assist with hiring, firing, promoting, and demoting crew personnel.
- Submits field time cards.
- Monitors subcontractor work progress.
Change Management
- Works with Project Manager and Project Engineer identify and monitor changes to the project that need to be escalated.
Financial Management
- Analyzes targets and goals based on actual production work to determine if schedule or crew adjustments are needed.
- Collaborates with Operation Manager and Project Manager on procurement and delivery timelines.
- Ensures production quantities and any potential change order work are properly tracked – i.e. Differing site conditions.
Safety and Quality Assurance
- Ensures crews and subcontractor personnel (if applicable) are in compliance with all Keller, OSHA, and client or owner-specified safety requirements.
- In the event of a safety incident, works in partnership with HSEQ to support employees and project management teams per Keller policy.
- Logs all quality nonconformance issues and works with management for resolution.
- Exercises stop work authority for safety and quality issues.
- Conducts safety meetings with crews and discusses daily job hazard analysis.
- Collects and reviews equipment inspection sheets.
- High school diploma.
- 15 years’ experience in supervising construction crews on civil and/or geotechnical construction projects.
- Experience with various drilling techniques and ground improvement methods.
- 30 Hour OSHA training
- Good computer skills using MS word, excel and outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Excellent time management, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interface with clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, if on small contracts.
- Must be willing to travel and potentially be away from home for 2-3 weeks at a time.
Salary Range: $120,000 to $150,000 per year
Salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant internal and external experience, knowledge, skills, scope of job, geographical location or other factors permitted by law
