Position Title:  Director of Creative Strategy

Department:  Intercollegiate Athletics

Reports to:  Senior Associate Athletic Director

Appointment:  Full-Time (12 months)

Director of Creative Strategy
The Bradley University Athletics Department is now accepting applications for the position of Director of Creative Strategy. Based on experience and qualifications, this position may be elevated to the title of Assistant or Associate Athletic Director for Creative Strategy.

Purpose of position: To assist Athletics Marketing and Communication Departments to further develop and execute the Bradley University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics storytelling strategy, with a heavy emphasis on the men’s basketball program, including management of the team’s social media presence and a key role in creative content for the program and the overarching brand of Bradley Athletics.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Lead and assist in athletics brand development across all mediums including, but not limited to: website, social media, marketing, gameday, and recruiting materials.
  • Oversee athletics main social media accounts and content strategy, with direct responsibility for the men’s basketball program’s accounts and creative direction.
  • Lead on developing, empowering, and assisting in the execution of social media content strategies across all 15 Bradley sports programs.
  • Play a key role in developing, producing, and executing creative storytelling content for the men’s basketball program and the athletics department.
  • Collaborate with campus constituents, particularly the Office of Marketing and Communications, to align messaging and brand strategy.
  • Lead on mentoring and educating student-athletes and coaches on changing social landscapes to leverage new and ongoing trends to help further develop positive personal and athletics brands.
  • Assist external areas in content creation and execution to promote revenue-generating opportunities including, but not limited to: season and single game ticket sales, enhancing marketing plans to increase attendance and game atmosphere, and Braves Club initiatives.
  • Oversee and empower student creative staff in efforts to help assist in the enhancement and development of athletics brand storytelling.
  • Depending on experience, may supervise additional full-time staff, student interns, or graduate assistants.
  • Assist athletic marketing and communications team upon direction as necessary.
  • Travel with athletic teams, particularly men’s basketball, or to special events as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by Athletic Director or Senior Associate Athletic Director.
  • Support Bradley University, Missouri Valley Conference, and NCAA initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in graphic design, social media, marketing, or communications preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in social media management, creative content development, and brand strategy required.
  • Experience with NCAA Division I athletics, particularly men’s basketball, preferred.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
  • The successful candidate must be willing to uphold the mission and values of Bradley Athletics and adhere to all NCAA, Missouri Valley Conference, and University rules and policies.

The title of Assistant or Associate Athletic Director may be awarded to candidates with the requisite level of experience, leadership ability, and supervisory background.
