We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Automation Engineer II supporting the MTO Engineering Manufacturing Team in Fort Worth, TX, a typical day will include:
Handle complex tasks related to the design, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of instrument/electrical and automation control systems.
Focus on mathematical modeling of diverse systems, analyzing their dynamic behavior, and using control theory to create controllers.
Contribute to the development of advanced projects, utilizing your growing expertise and problem-solving abilities.
Make significant decisions within your project area, influencing project outcomes.
Adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.

Responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.
Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.
Designs manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for equipment installation.
Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
Develops user and design requirements, selects equipment vendors, or completes the technology design and equipment build.
Manages the installation of automation systems while ensuring safety, and validating the automated system for alignment to requirements, CGMPs, and intended system operation.
Supports Automation Technicians in situations where problem solving, or technology may fall outside of their area of expertise.
Interacts with production supervisors/managers to identify areas to improve equipment efficiency, flexibility, quality, safety, and/or reliability.
Implements automation solutions resulting from MNC investigations or CAPA assignments.
Plans and carries out engineering project work with minimal direction.
Troubleshoots equipment/process control systems and change control activities.
Programs PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and inspection systems.
Designs and implements modifications to the existing manufacturing equipment that will improve the operational efficiencies.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs) The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
