General Summary
Essential Job Accountabilities
Collect data in the field by measuring, observing, and recording land and geographic features
Operate and maintain surveying instruments with GPS systems, machine control systems and late model survey equipment
Obtain & record as-built survey data as required to ensure compliance and accuracy
Collaborate with project managers & engineers to ensure compliance and accuracy
Perform construction surveys and field stake-out for area roads, bridges, buildings, and other properties.
Receives overall direction from Crew Chief and/or Instrument person.
Has knowledge on land surveying principles and possess mathematical abilities.
Follow safety protocols when working outdoors & ensure the safety of other team members working on site
Education
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
Work Experience
Appropriate training and experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure
Evaluate information using measurable standards.
Physically, workers must be able to:
Stand or walk for long periods
Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects
Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds
Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment
Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
