Position Purpose and Summary

The Junior Database Administrator will ensure the smooth operation and performance of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s iMIS system. By managing and optimizing database functions, this role bridges the gap between data integrity and system functionality, ensuring that critical data is secure, accessible and efficiently supports organizational processes. The Junior Database Administrator will play a vital role in enhancing data-driven decision-making while improving overall system performance for staff and members.


Duties and Responsibilities

Administration:

Configure and customize organization’s database to meet specific organizational needs such as settings, fields, workflows, automations, analysis, reports, queries, dashboards and other visualizations.

Ensures the database supports our membership structure including collection of data; joins and renews/invoicing processes, welcome letters and other personalized communications.

Administers functions between the database and the National Headquarters website, including supporting the integration of Delta Sigma Theta technology platforms:

   - iMIS and iMIS Rise

   - Email Marketing: Higher Logic (Informz)

   - Application & Review Software: Open Water

   - Event Management: Cvent

   - Learning Management System: Top Class

Collaborates with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into technical solutions.

Performs data imports, data exports and data integrity checks within the iMIS system.

User Support:

Troubleshoots database billing and accounting issues.

Provides technical support to users, including training, troubleshooting and resolving issues.

Works with staff to identify user needs and develop processes for increased productivity and increased user experience.

Develops and manages all database SOPs (e.g., data entry, IQAs, automation module).

Creates and maintains custom reports and dashboards to support decision-making.

Liaison to Database’s Service Provider:

Escalates system issues.

Monitors database performance and troubleshoots issues to maintain optimal efficiency.

Implements robust security measures to protect sensitive data.

Regularly reviews and updates security policies and procedures.

Other Duties as Assigned.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing SQL-based databases.

• Experience with iMIS, iMIS RiSE and iMIS Partners (i.e., Informz, Open Water, Higher Logic and Top Class) is a plus.

• Experience with database integration with other systems (e.g., payment gateways, CRM).

• Knowledge/programming experience with SQL.

• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments within the organization.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a plus.

• Understanding of membership billing and accounting modules, preferred.

• Must be able to travel as necessary for events where staff participation is required.

• Relocation assistance is not available. Must reside within a 50-mile radius of National Headquarters within six (6) months of start date.
