POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finishing Operations Manager assumes a pivotal role in supervising manufacturing activities and resources to accomplish company objectives in safety, quality, delivery, shipments, and cost.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of position):

- Direct manufacturing activities and resources according to Company Operating Procedures to achieve planned shipments and production goals, emphasizing safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
- Develop, maintain, and adjust daily/weekly production schedules to align with customer requirements and available resources.
- Use Excel to track, forecast, and report on capacity, lead times, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and ensure on-time delivery.
- Continuously analyze data to identify bottlenecks, improve planning accuracy, and support operational efficiency.
- Assess schedules and production goals to make well-informed decisions on staffing, duty assignments, and equipment requirements, considering budgetary and time constraints.
- Communicate and prioritize customer needs with sales, scheduling, quality, and production management teams.
- Coordinate and collaborate on combined Pre-productions, addressing any customer requirements derived from pre-productions while ensuring production prerequisites are met.
- Organize and lead post-production problem-solving workshops to resolve customer-related issues or delivery discrepancies.
- Maintain communication with customers regarding open order status, respond to daily inquiries, and coordinate expedite plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with Engineers to explore alternative processing methods for schedule adherence while meeting quality standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in conjunction with Engineers to minimize waste through workplace organization, setup reduction, and enhanced manufacturing processes.
- Manage the recruitment, training, and deployment of production and finishing personnel.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations, devise growth plans, implement disciplinary actions, and address personnel grievances as required.
- Collaborate with engineering, scheduling, and vendors to provide revised delivery dates as needed.
- Prepare ship lists for financial periods, weeks, and days.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel functions (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, IF statements) to analyze and present data.
- Experience developing and maintaining reports and dashboards in Excel to support decision-making.
NONESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS (not necessary but preferred):
- 4 year college degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of operations management experience in a manufacturing environment.
