Position Title: Assistant Project Manager
Department: Exhibits and Projects
Classification: Exempt
Direct Report: Manager, Projects
Position Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager will support the planning, development, and execution of construction and capital investment projects, helping to ensure the successful completion of all project activities. This role includes managing project documentation, tracking budgets and schedules, coordinating with external vendors and internal staff, facilitating communication between departments such as curatorial, design, and fabrication, and assisting with logistical tasks such as installation and exhibit care. The Assistant Project Manager works closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage planning, scheduling, and coordinating exhibitions and capital projects from development through installation and evaluation.
- Track project timelines, budgets, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time and on-budget completion.
- Serve as a liaison between internal departments (curatorial, design, fabrication) and external vendors, consultants, and contractors.
- Support contracting, monitoring, and management of vendors and subcontractors to meet project goals, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Maintain project documentation, including progress reports, meeting notes, and design plans.
- Proactively address project challenges related to personnel, materials, or contract administration.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
- At least 2 years of experience any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
