The Opportunity:

This is a high-profile role that would suit a team-player with broad industry experience and a passion for working with others to deliver positive economic and social benefits to Scotland. 

This is a key position within the Business Development Team and the incumbent will be based in our Glasgow Hub and have responsibility for driving out the activities of The Data Lab across academia, industry and the third sector. 

The Data Lab is Scotland’s innovation centre for data and AI. The Data Lab was founded in 2014 as part of Scotland’s Innovation Centres programme. 

Through hubs in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, we foster innovation through collaboration, build skills and grow talent, and champion Scotland’s data science community.

The salary for this post is £50,253 to £61,759 per annum.

 

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or Cognitive Science advanced degree, or equivalent.
  • Significant business development experience with a successful track record of achievement in the delivery of multi-million pounds activity.
  • Experience in business planning, proposal development and financial oversight.
  • Ability to work with industry, public sector and academic partners with a business focus is essential.
