Spreads financial statements, analyzes, recommends approval or declines of SBA loan applications for term, and line of credit loans and any other credit applications deemed necessary for aggregate commercial exposure less than $1,000,000. Uses prudent judgment in applying guidelines and standards to the credits assigned to evaluate risk. Performs financial analysis and collateral evaluations, then assesses and assigns the appropriate credit risk rating while considering the SBA loan policy guidelines. Communicates the underwriting decision, determines the potential for up sells or cross sells and makes recommendations to the SBA Business Development Officers, and Corporate Bankers.
Essential Job Responsibilities__________________________________
1. Spreads financial statements, analyzes, recommends approval or decline of applications for, term, and line of credit loans, and any other credit applications deemed necessary for aggregate commercial exposure less than $1,000,000.
2. Uses prudent judgment in applying guidelines and standards to the credits assigned to evaluate risks.
3. Performs financial analysis and collateral evaluations, then assesses and assigns appropriate credit risk rating while considering the current loan policy guidelines.
4. Communicates underwriting decisions to the SBA BDOs and Commercial Lenders, and explains the reasons behind the decisions while adhering to the service level agreements as set forth by the SBA Lending Executive.
5. Determines potential for up-selling or cross-selling and makes recommendations to the Corporate Bankers.
6. Knows, understands and adheres to all procedures for compliance and regulations, including the SBA’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Guidelines.
7. Addresses and resolves inquiries in a timely manner.
8. Provides assistance or guidance to Business Solutions Underwriters, Corporate Bankers, portfolio managers, and operation specialists as needed.
9. Completes any reports required.
10. Works with SBA loan closing group to effectively bring loan requests to close.
Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications___________________________
1. A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one (1) years of related experience or a cumulative equivalent related experience are required.
2. Proficient reading, writing, grammar, analytical, mathematical, communication and interpersonal relation skills required.
3. Requires computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel; and knowledge of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) loan guaranty programs, specialist documentation, and eligibility requirements.
