Description

The Director of Finance will lead the financial analysis and budgeting strategy for BRSi. This role is responsible for supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and related activities. The ideal candidate is both strategic and analytical, capable of building dashboards that provides leadership with insight to support business growth and profitability. Individual will foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across projects.

*Candidate must be within DC Metro area.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute financial improvement strategies across both public and private sector projects.
  • Advise the CFO and leadership team on financial planning, risk management, and investment opportunities.
  • Coordinate and build relationships with product and project team leaders.

Financial Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day financial management and reporting functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting based on agreed upon metrics, including profit and loss across projects.
  • Lead long-term financial forecasting and scenario planning.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Expense Analysis

  • Develop annual budgeting process and provide ongoing forecasts.
  • Monitor performance against budget and provide actionable insights.
  • Analyze operating expenses, with a focus on overhead costs such as marketing, facilities, utilities, salaries, and IT costs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements across departments.
  • Develop internal controls and financial policies as needed.
  • Help coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a management consulting firm.
  • Strong understanding of profitability and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with product, operations, and sales teams.
