PURPOSE
Establishment and/or maintenance of the systems necessary for accurate administration of governmental and non-governmental contracts. Responsible for billing, tracking assigned grants, and grants receivable and process employee payroll in payroll system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance
- Prepare monthly and quarterly vouchers for all assigned grants and maintain records of grants receivable from various funding sources.
- Manage the budgeting, billing and drawdowns of all assigned grants
- Assist the Director of Finance to enter and/or review accrued and deferred revenue accounts monthly to ensure revenues are accurately reflected
- Process and reconcile Bi-weekly payroll.
- Facilitate 401K payments and YWCA retirement accounts.
- Cross train with AP Finance Assistant to provide back-ups for all accounts payable functions.
- Assist the AP Finance Assistant with the grant reconciliations of expenses and grant drawdown of funds
- Operate, maintain, and provide operational instructions for copy equipment. Prepare monthly reports for copier.
- Enter monthly entries in accounting system and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts
- Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality when interacting with employees, clients and or vendors.
- Assist in agency fiscal audits.
- Interact with internal and external customers and external vendors.
- Design Excel reports as needed.
- Perform all duties as requested.
RELEVANT BACKGROUND
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Business Administration and/or equivalent
- Will accept associate's degree in accounting or business administration with two (2) years’ experience or equivalent combination.
- Not-for-profit accounting experience a plus
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Must be comfortable working with databases and computerized financial systems
- Must be able to identify priorities within multiple assignments in a high-pressured, short-deadline environment, and be able to work with diplomacy and efficiency in such an environment
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical, critical thinking, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work well with all levels of employees, be flexible in nature, have sound judgment with an open and collaborative style that encourages teamwork and cooperation beyond the immediate team to the broader organization
