Essential Functions of role:
This is “hands on” Leadership production operation role.
- Meeting USDA and Company standards and under the supervision of a foreman, assists with overseeing the leadership and management of the processes and associates. Making sure that all equipment is working properly and that the line starts on time. Assist with making certain daily production and associates are performing as expected to meet customer, departmental and organizational needs and expectation.
- Start ½ an hour before shift to set up and operate equipment before shift starts.
- Assist foreman in start up of line production and associate placement
- Check for absenteeism’s or vacation and set line accordingly
- Making sure that associates are informed and follow the rules, polices and procedures for USDA, OSHA, MIOSHA, HACCP and GMFP (good manufacture procedures)
- Teaching associates the importance of working safe and in a team environment
- Train new associates in job duties
- And other tasks assigned by hi/her foreman
Qualifications:- Must have 0-1 years of experience in this position
- Must have proven leadership skills
- Must be able to work with minimal daily supervision
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to understand and communicate the English language
- Spanish speaking ability a definite plus
- Must be able and implement all the rules and procedures established by the HACCP program and must be able to work very closely with U.S.D.A.
- Must have attention to detail.
- Must be able to perform all jobs in the department
- Must be able to fill in the role of foreman in his/her absence
- Must be able to understand the English and Spanish languages
- Must be able to work safely
- Must maintain excellent attendance
- Must be able to maintain good records of all production
- Must be able to perform other tasks assigned by foreman
- Must be able to work in a team environment

- Must be able to physically perform the essential functions of the role as outlined.
- Using hands and fingers, must be able to perform all tasks for white meat areas
- Must be able to obtain a Hi-lo driver license
- Must be able to use knives (wiser and regular) on the line
- Must be able to twist, bend, reach, and stand for 8 hours or the duration of the shift, in a wet cold environment.
- Must be able to lift 40lbs.
