The Package
- Starting salary of £20,815/year (Increasing to at least NMW after first 12 months)
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (Increasing to 28 days)
- Workings hours are 37.5 hours per week
- Flexitime 7:30am-6pm with core hours of 10am-2pm

What will I be doing as an apprentice?
- Assist Technologists and Chemists with experimental work and laboratory procedures.
- Prepare and test laboratory scale samples of inks, coatings and intermediates to defined standards.
- Use and maintain laboratory equipment and materials in line with SunCare safety principles and policies.
- Document experimental processes and results accurately in lab notebooks and databases.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
- Maintain a clean and organised laboratory workspace.

You bring common sense and a practical approach to problem-solving, along with the ability to follow clear processes and work effectively in a regulated, safety-focused environment. Attention to detail comes naturally to you, and you take pride in completing tasks accurately and reliably.
You are comfortable using computers and learning new technologies, and you pick up new skills quickly. Strong verbal communication helps you collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment. You are enthusiastic about science and technology, with an interest in chemistry, materials, or manufacturing processes. Above all, you are proactive, willing to ask questions, and ready to take ownership of your learning as you gain practical experience and build your confidence in the lab.

As a training provider, we are committed to ensuring that our apprenticeship programs deliver significant new knowledge and skills. To be eligible, applicants must demonstrate that the program will provide learning and experiences beyond their current qualifications and professional expertise.
If you already hold a Level 3, degree or equivalent higher-level qualification in a closely related field, or possess substantial relevant experience, you may not be eligible for apprenticeship funding, as these programmes are designed for individuals who require upskilling or reskilling in their chosen career pathway.
