ENTEK is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment for a Maintenance Utility Float role to join us on-site in Lebanon, Oregon.


This is a unique opportunity at ENTEK and is vital to the continuity of our business operations. We are looking for someone willing and able to work any shift (day and night, as needed) during any given week, but will primarily work night shift.


As a Maintenance Utility at ENTEK, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of raw materials and the cleanliness of our production environment. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Material Handling: Receive and switch out rail cars, verify product tagging, and transfer materials into the bulk system.
  • System Monitoring: Track and document material levels in silos, day bins, and load outs. Ensure the bulk system is fully stocked before shift changes.
  • Communication: Serve as the key contact for updating the Maintenance/Ancillary team on material status, especially for late deliveries.
  • Environmental Maintenance: Change out oil absorbents and filter media, monitor sump drainage, and maintain secondary containment areas.
  • Facility Cleanliness: Keep ancillary spaces clean and organized through sweeping, vacuuming, pressure washing, and equipment upkeep.
  • Weekly Monitoring: Conduct and document well flow checks and other routine monitoring tasks.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Comfort with physical tasks and working in a manufacturing environment.
  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Works well independently and collaboratively, with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and interpret a wide variety of documents.
  • Capable of solving practical problems and handling multiple variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence.
  • Satisfactory results from a pre-employment fit-for-duty screen and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift certification or experience operating industrial vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. email, word processing)
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or materials handling environment.
  • Familiarity with bulk material transfer systems.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or experience with maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to hazardous materials, spill containment, or confined spaces.
  • Experience with documentation systems or digital tracking tools for inventory and maintenance logs.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts or flexible hours, including weekends or holidays as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

Working Environment

The assigned shift will vary week by week, but will be on night shift after completion of training on day shift. Weekly shifts will include 8 hours a day, Monday-Friday, as well as 12 hours a day for 3.5 days a week.


This role is physically active and requires employees to be on their feet for most of the shift. You may also need to stand or walk for extended periods.


To perform the job successfully, you should be able to:

  • Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Reach with arms and hands, and use fine finger movements
  • Regularly lift up to 30 pounds, frequently lift up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

The work environment includes:

  • Proximity to moving mechanical parts
  • Regular exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and heat
  • Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Areas that can be relatively dusty due to raw material handling

Safety Requirements:

  • Must be willing and able to wear a half-face respirator when needed (note: this requires being clean-shaven before reporting to work)
  • Eye and hearing protection must be worn at all times while on the job
