The Electronics Quality Inspector is responsible for evaluating and ensuring all products associated with NK's Ambient Weather brand are meeting quality standards before making their way to customers. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Electronics Quality Inspector will inspect incoming parts and finished goods for distribution and sale, document inspection findings and work with the warehouse team to implement process improvement practices to increase product quality. The Electronics Quality Inspector will play an important role in evaluating returned goods to determine quality issues and re-circulate products for sale. 

Requirements

  

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

  • Inspects and approves product by confirming specifications and conducting visual and measurement tests - rejecting unacceptable product with suggestions to resolve.  Inspections may include use of measurement tools, such as a scale, micrometer and multimeter. 
  • Document inspection results by completing reports/logs, summarizing re-worked products and waste. Input data into quality database.
  • Process Amazon returns, following test plans to inspect and determine if product can be resold.
  • Assemble/disassemble products and parts to determine function and quality.
  • Document data using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Interface with the Sage 100 or other ERP systems.
  • Use pallet jack and dolly to move product throughout the warehouse. 
  • Communicate with vendors any part/product defects.

Required Experience and Competencies

  • High school degree or equivalent and minimum one-year related warehouse/manufacturing experience and/or training.
  • In-depth knowledge of consumer electronics and their components.
  • Proficient in testing products (making sure items power up, LCD segments aren't missing, wireless devices communicate within range and specifications)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, product/part specifications and product manuals. 
  • Ability to document results and report outcomes.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively amongst team. 
  • Experienced problem solver with a focus on process/product efficiencies.
  • Ability to perform investigations of product issues. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.


Training

Most training is on-the-job but formal education and training may be provided where appropriate and desired.


Work Location

This position works on-site at NK’s warehouse facility in Chandler, Arizona. 40-hour schedule, Monday- Friday.


Work Environment and Physical Demands

Climate-controlled indoor warehouse facility. May be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb or balance. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. 


Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. Security clearance is not required.
