Summary: Reporting to the President/CEO, the Director of Marketing leads all marketing, communications, branding, and public relations efforts to increase awareness of St. Coletta’s mission and services. This leadership role will oversee strategy development, content creation, media relations, and the coordination of a variety of events throughout the year, including those occurring on evenings and weekends.  the Director collaborates across departments, manages vendor relationships, and acts as a brand ambassador to ensure consistent, mission-aligned messaging both internally and externally. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Strategic Marketing & Communications

  • Lead the development and execution of an annual, organization-wide marketing and communications strategy.
  • Promote the organization’s services, values, and mission across multiple audiences including families, staff, donors, referral networks, and the broader community.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assess brand positioning, identify trends, and inform marketing direction.

Brand Management & Content Development

  • Maintain and evolve St. Coletta’s visual and messaging standards to ensure a consistent and authentic brand presence.
  • Oversee creation of digital and print materials including brochures, social media content, newsletters, annual reports, signage, and web content.
  • Serve as editor for all internal and external communications.

Media Relations & Public Outreach

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and public statements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media partners, local organizations, and industry professionals.
  • Prepare press releases, talking points, and public announcements.
  • Represent St. Coletta at community events, partnership meetings, or on relevant boards/committees.

Event Management

  • Plan and execute a number of annual organizational events, including community celebrations, awareness campaigns, recruitment events, and donor recognition gatherings.
  • Coordinate logistics, promotions, and post-event communication.
  • Availability required for occasional evening and weekend events.

Digital Strategy & Analytics

  • Oversee website content strategy and user experience in collaboration with vendors or internal staff.
  • Oversee social media presence across platforms with a focus on engagement and reach.
  • Track analytics, measure KPIs, and report on campaign effectiveness with recommendations for improvement.

Team & Budget Management

  • Oversee marketing budget, approve expenditures, and manage contracts with external vendors and consultants.
  • Hire and supervise marketing staff, interns, and/or volunteers.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing or communications, with at least 2 years in a leadership role; nonprofit or human services experience preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in event marketing, digital communications, and brand development.


Language Skills: 

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, face to face, in writing and/or over the telephone, with any and all internal and external stakeholders, constituents, prospects or business partners.  Ability to effectively write in a business style and in a professional manner. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. 


Mathematical Skills: 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  


Reasoning Ability: 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to function in a matrix and collaborative environment. Ability to understand and apply best practices and common sense understanding to complex issues 


Computer Skills: 

Knowledge of donor databases, preferable Raiser’s Edge, prospect research databases, Microsoft Office Suite products, Quark Express, Adobe Photoshop, Internet, and e-mail.     


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

This position requires that an employee is able to drive for work purposes and must maintain a valid driver’s license with a past driving record that meets the standards set forth by the agency.  This position may require the use of the employee’s personal vehicle. 


Other Skills and Abilities: 

Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends for key events. Skilled at working with adults who have developmental disabilities.
