I. JOB SUMMARY/ACCOUNTABILITY
The Assistant Education Manager reports directly to the Education Manager of EHS/CCP. The Assistant Education Manager is responsible for supporting the education content area through training, data management, reporting, and administrative coordination. This position ensures smooth operations by maintaining accurate records, analyzing educational data, and assisting with program logistics. The Assistant Education Manager is responsible for tracking and monitoring the EHS/CCP teachers training and education status.
II. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Five or more years’ experience working in a childcare environment.
- Five or more years’ of Early Childhood experience.
- Experience in typing and general office work, knowledge of established usages in business correspondence and English.
- Knowledge of State of Michigan Licensing Rules, Head Start Program Performance Standards, HighScope Curriculum, COR Advantage, Program Quality Assessment Tool.
- Knowledge of Curriculum, MiRegistry, Child Development Associate Credential, Assessment and observation tools.
- Must be an Approved MiRegistry Trainer.
- Clerical aptitude and computer literacy.
- Input, analyze and monitor education data operations.
- Must be able to complete licensing requirements including criminal clearance, Central Registry Clearance and drug screen.

Within 90 days of employment, must obtain and continually maintain basic first aid, food handlers and adult, child and infant CPR certification (or sooner if required by local/state regulations). Acceptable tuberculosis screening results, a clear criminal records check (including child abuse registry check if required by state regulations) and an initial health exam are required post job offer and prior to employment. To drive agency vehicles (if applicable), must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the Matrix Human Services insurance carrier and have a Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Matrix Human Services.
III. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant Education Manager is responsible for supporting the Education Content Area. They will serve as liaison between CCP staff, providers, and teachers to support communication and implementation of program standards. The Assistant Education Manager will coordinate logistics and documentation for teacher training. Collaborate with content managers to plan and facilitate professional development meetings and workshops. Create and manage spreadsheets and resource databases to support training preparation and compliance tracking. Ensure timely and consistent data entry for compliance reporting and internal reviews

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Conduct regular visits to each child care center and family child care homes, some of which are unannounced, not less than once every month.
- Periodically verify compliance with either contract requirements or agency policy.
- Manage and maintain educational data systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity across teacher credentials, child records, program metrics, and performance dashboards.
- Generate detailed reports on ChildPlus and visualizations to support decision-making and track program outcomes.
- Provide administrative support for the HighScope curriculum, teacher onboarding, and training logistics.
- Coordinate scheduling, communications, and documentation for workshops, trainings, and special events.
- Assist in evaluating program effectiveness through data analysis and stakeholder feedback.
- Supported compliance efforts by organizing and auditing documentation in alignment with institutional standards.
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve data accessibility.
- Complete center and family child care home Program Quality Assessments.
- Work closely with the content area managers to review and analyze data from the Child Observation Record (COR) to determine positive outcomes for children and families.
- Monitor and compile monthly data and information for various internal and external reports.
- Understand and apply policies and procedures related to program content areas.
- Maintain working knowledge of the Licensing Rules for Family Child Care Homes and Child Care Centers.
- Assist in planning and implementing program activities and special initiatives.
- Attend mandatory meetings and professional development trainings.
- Continuously pursue professional development opportunities.
- Monitor compliance with program policies, licensing rules, and Head Start Program Performance Standards.
- Support recruitment efforts for children enrolling in the Child Care Partnership Program.
- Actively participate in program-sponsored activities and community events.
- Maintain reliable transportation to travel between sites and events as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Education Manager and Program Director.
IV. WORKING AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Works in a normal office environment with usual pressures of managing personnel and dealing with time constraints. Because of multiple sites within the department and the need to meet with others within the community, it is common to drive to several locations, sometimes in inclement weather.
