Envirotest is a proud subsidiary of Opus Inspection, the worldwide provider of vehicle emissions testing equipment and services. Our mission: to make the world a cleaner and safer place by providing highly effective solutions for vehicle inspection through innovative technologies, customer focus and operational excellence. We are looking for a Motorist Assistance Manager to head our new initiative focused on assisting motorists with vehicle-related diagnostic advice. This position is based out of our Baltimore, MD Headquarters, and will require frequent travel to our stations throughout the state.
The ideal candidate will be ASE certified with supervisory experience and exceptional leadership. This position is highly visible and will require outstanding customer service skills in order to educate customers on emissions-related vehicle diagnosis.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as MAC (Motorist Assistant Center) Program Manager, supervising and supporting Emission Repair Advisors.
- Troubleshoot and diagnosis emission-related vehicle issues to determine the cause of malfunction.
- Provides vehicle specific information to motorists and the vehicle repair facilities to ensure the proper and complete repair of vehicles that fail an emissions test.
- Ensures vehicle test results are available to the customer and repair shop. Detailed results will include OBD tests, such as MIL status, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), readiness status, and other information to help with vehicle related repairs.
- Ensures the required repair information and data (repair work completed, receipts, etc.) is complete prior to issuance of repair waivers.
- Performs PM and repair of MAC instruments and equipment as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Knowledge needed:
- Knowledge of digital and analog electronics.
- Familiarity with test equipment, including digital multimeters.
- Advanced understanding of the principles of electromechanical operation.
- A working understanding of pneumatics.
