POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Bookkeeper/Secretary
REPORTS TO: Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 233 Days
SALARY: $ 31,612.27 - $ 50,555.17
QUALIFICATIONS:
Aptitude for numeric calculations and interpretations
Detail-oriented
Good organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of financial software programs and strong Microsoft Excel
Accounting experience (preferred)
Familiarity with cash accounting
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintains accurate accounting records by ensuring that all expenditures and revenues are recorded in an accurate and timely manner.
Assists in the preparation of reports.
Performs monthly bank statement reconciliation.
- Performs secretarial and clerical duties pertaining to the administrative functions of the school office.
Receipts, deposits, disburses and records all monies received by the school, and keeps an accurate ledger from which a monthly balance and an annual audit can be made.
- Verifies the reconciliation of bank statements and prepares necessary adjusting journal entries.

- Maintains the confidentiality of reports, records, and personal experiences of a private nature regarding students, school employees, and patrons.
Inputs purchase orders and ensure payments are sent in a timely manner.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend meetings and training as required.
Provide accounting system training and assistance.
Maintain confidentiality.
Recommend new efficiency improvements.
Salary and work year to be recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
