ENSCO, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced INFOSEC/Cybersecurity Specialist (Level 1) to lead enterprise-level security engineering efforts in support of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Organization (ATO) NAS Enterprise Services Group (AJW-17). This senior role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing advanced cybersecurity measures to protect the National Airspace System (NAS), ensuring compliance with FAA policies, federal cybersecurity standards, and mission-critical operational requirements.
The selected candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, leading system security reviews, authoring and approving cybersecurity documentation, and directing security testing and evaluation efforts. Responsibilities include overseeing configuration management activities, managing vulnerability assessments, prioritizing and tracking remediation efforts, and preparing high-level reports and executive briefings for FAA leadership. The role will also lead technical interchange meetings, ensure the integrity and security of enterprise repositories, and provide authoritative guidance during security incident investigations and response activities.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in a related information technology field (may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience)
20+ years of experience (Master’s degree may substitute for 3 years; PhD may substitute for 7 years)
Possess any industry-recognized certification relevant to the required work (Security+, CISSP, CISM, etc.)
Extensive expertise in federal cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST SP 800-series publications and FIPS security standards
Proven ability to design, implement, and oversee enterprise-level security controls, policies, and procedures for complex, distributed systems
Demonstrated leadership in system authorization, continuous monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and remediation tracking across enterprise environments
Ability to lead secure integration strategies and risk management efforts
Extensive experience with configuration management (CM) and compliance processes, including directing audits, maintaining baselines, and ensuring alignment with federal security policies
Ability to provide executive-level security briefings, technical reports, and risk assessments, and to advise FAA senior leadership on strategic cybersecurity issues
Proven leadership in mentoring cybersecurity teams, guiding multidisciplinary staff, and driving organizational improvements in cybersecurity posture
Proficiency with enterprise tools (e.g., MS Teams, SharePoint, Jira/Confluence) and security platforms supporting threat detection, monitoring, and compliance reporting
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
Qualifications Desired
Experience working with the FAA ATO
Background in incident response leadership for complex, multi-agency cybersecurity events
Experience with federal cybersecurity programs or other high-security mission-critical environments
In-depth experience in emerging cyber technologies such as Zero Trust, supply chain risk management, cloud security, or Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Active SECRET security clearance
