BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The Vice President of Finance role leads the Finance team. As the leader of this group, the position encompasses various aspects of financial planning, analysis, forecasting, & collections in an effort to increase branch performance and improve the company’s bottom line. The VP of Finance plays a critical part in integrating platforms and processes across departments to ensure financial transparency, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
 
Salary Range: $200,000 – $220,000
Bonus Potential: 40% of base salary
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Financial Strategy, Planning & Compliance
  • Provide strategic financial planning advice to Senior Leadership for long-term growth.
  • Use data analysis to strategically forecast financial trends.
  • Outline and implement company-wide budget plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Assess company spending, identify opportunities toto reduce costs and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
 
Financial Oversight, Reporting & Compliance
  • Direct and monitor all financial activity of the organization.
  • Review of various financial reports and data to provide meaningful information to the insights to stakeholders.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data and present the information with reports and presentations to the executive leadership team.
  • Identify financial status by comparing actual results to plans, budgets, and forecast.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, market trends and patterns, and create necessary actions with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor adherence to company best practices and notify the appropriate parties of any potential concerns.
 
Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and financial excellence.
  • Partner with operations and sales team to support sound financial decisions that drive profitability and minimize losses.
  • Collaborate with IT to develop, maintain, and analyze key metrics using data warehouse and Power BI that allows for operational visibility, scalability, and accuracy.
  • Champion the use of automation and analytics to enhance decision-making and reduce manual processes.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
  • This position will manage a team of directors & analysts.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • 7-10 Years in a financial leadership role, required.
  • Experience in the construction industry, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and with MS Office suite, and ability to quickly grasp new systems and software.
  • Strong skills in statistical analysis, including the ability to interpret financial trends, model scenarios, and support strategic forecasting.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and strong cross-functional relationships to deliver exceptional customer service within the organization.
 
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, required
    MBA, preferred
 
TRAVEL:
  • Occasional travel. (Less than 25% of the time.) Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected for training or meetings.

COMPENSATION:
